As many of you know PUSH offers nutrition services as a bonus to your workouts. We want to give you a bit of a low-down on what this service is and how it works:
Every month you have access to a meeting with Victoria to discuss your nutrition, your goals and review any adjustments you can make. The goal isn’t for a big overhaul, rather, to make small and easy changes to your current diet and how you approach eating. Victoria will arm you with some tools and tips that fit into your lifestyle in order to approach food in a balanced way.
You will sit together for thirty minutes and this is an opportunity to bring forward anything you want to discuss regarding your diet. Victoria will help you build some basic skills to add to your weekly routine and hold you accountable through follow-up, while still leaving room for patience and adjustments. The goal is to make minor adjustments to how you approach eating, so that your current diet fits into your lifestyle while still also complementing your workouts.
In addition, we offer curated meal plans, located on the website. There is a page with easy breakfasts for example, so that you can start your day on the right foot. We leave recipes in the downstairs entry that are simple breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner recipes so that you don’t have to go searching for something healthy. Make sure to pick these up and report back on which ones you enjoyed! The idea is that you have someone else doing some of the heavy lifting and researching nutritional recipes, saving you time to cook and enjoy the food!
Personally, it’s important for me to know what I am putting in my body, because I want to feel good. I want to support what I am doing in the gym and eat well so that my body functions at its best. You don’t have to cook something new every night or prep all your meals and snacks; rather, it has to fit into your lifestyle. What is the best choice you can make with the resources and the time that you have? When I don’t have any homemade snacks, I always have a Kind Bar on hand; If I didn’t have time to make lunch, I call Heartwood on Gottingen St. and get a veggie burger or a peanut bowl. All you can do is your best.
