This is a great take on the traditional burger from the kitchen of (the one and only) Kris Andrews. He makes these almost once a week. If you're going to have a burger, you've gotta have it on a white bun. With an onion ring.
1 1/2 lb Ground Turkey
Salt & Pepper
Old cheddar cheese, sliced
Bacon (Brother's Bacon recommended)
4 Onion rings (recipe here; you can sub all purpose flour for GF Flour)
Sweet potato fries (recipe here)
Prepare all your burger toppings before you grill your burgers. The sweet potatoes should go in the oven before you put your burgers on the grill. You can prepare your onion rings and cook them before or while the burgers are grilling.
Preheat grill to high. Mix ground turkey and salt and pepper in a bowl. Form turkey meat into 4 equal size patties, 3/4 inch thick. Brush both sides with olive oil. This will prevent them from sticking to the grill.
Lightly oil grill. Place patties on hottest part of grill; sear until browned, 1 to 2 minutes per side. Move patties to cooler part of grill; continue grilling until cooked through, 5 to 10 minutes per side.
Once you have removed your burgers from the grill, you can toast your buns on the grill for about a minute and then serve with sweet potatoes on the side.
